30 Day Anime Challenge: Day 17

What is an anime you want to watch but haven’t yet?

I have realized that I really enjoy sports anime. Kuroko no Basket had me on the edge of my seat for the entire series and it was extremely satisfying to watch because I used to play basketball in during my school days and I still watch and follow basketball through the NBA. So I was able to call out certain moves or traits that were based on real-life players and it was so fun and entertaining to watch.

Shakunetsu no Takkyuu (Scorching Ping Pong Girls) was an amazing show that was able to get my blood pumping every time a serious match was being held. The animation and the music (the music was awesome!) drove the adrenaline straight through my veins. I was so captivated by the show that I literally started watching real like ping pong matches, noticing certain movies and skills that was used in the show. (I really don’t want to read the manga because it won’t have the same energy as the anime did but I don’t think I am going to get a season 2…)

And for as much hate was given to Keijo, I rather enjoyed the show and it wasn’t because of all of the fan service though I will say that was welcomed addition. The matches that was held were exciting and interesting. Say what you will about the show but they were able to get you invested earlier on and you cared about the development of the characters and their matches. They also had some interesting characters.

So it would only be natural that next anime on my list would be

I have heard some mighty good things about this anime and from the clips I have seen, it seems like something I am going to thoroughly enjoy.

I love the team the dynamics of the sport shows. The fact that they have to work together, combining skills that only a few of them have to figure out the perfect blend for success. Stories like that will always have a place with me because I used to play sports. I understand that dynamic more than most. Winning after working hard is rewarding. Losing after applying that same effort sucks but you learn from them. And I feel like I get a lot out of these type of shows.

Have you seen Haikyuu? What do you think about series? I would love to hear other opinions about the show.

But that is all for now. Thanks for stopping by and reading. You guys and gals are really awesome!

Until the next post… giving up my responsibility for the rest of the day because it is my birthday!

  2. Sooo prince of tennis is literally my fav anime ever so if you want to get into another sports anime that’s where it’s at lolol

    1. I used to watch the series back in the day! I need to go back and finish up! (At this point it would be starting over but I think the series is worth it)

      1. No need to totally start over but if u are familiar with the characters and don’t want to watch old animation you can go straight into the OVAs or New Prince of Tennis

      2. Thanks for the tip! I think I still remember! The OVAs is a great idea!
